The best weekend getaway: Shangri-La Barr AlJissah

Last weekend, we flew to Muscat, Oman to spend the holiday by the shores at Shangri-La Barr AlJissah. The place is just.. Magical. The resort consists of three hotels, a spa, a “Heritage Village” and some private villas.
Al Husn is one of three hotels, named “finest hotels on the Arabian Peninsula”, offering the highest level of service with a private beach, exceptional service and spectacular views. Al Husn only allows guests 18 years and above to stay there adding to its air of exclusivity. Next to the beautiful fort comes Al Bandar Hotel presenting the heart of the resort it has a feel of old muscat. Linked to it by the “Lazy River” is Al Waha hotel, representing the oasis with many palm trees. Both Al Bandar and Al Waha are family/groups hotels. Each one of them has its beach but residents of either could use the facilities of the other. Pools and water activities are accessible by residents of both hotels as well.

The beach is beautiful. The water is so clear, you’d see your toes when you’re standing in it. When you’re in the mood for more privacy when swimming you could drive 10 mins away from the hotel to a place called “Qantab”  and arrange to rent a  boat for half a day, they’d take you to watch the dolphins, tour you around the close shores then drop you by one of the creeks where no one’s around and they’ll pick you up after a couple hours.

Things you shouldn’t miss when at Shangri-La: CHi SPA.

Don’t forget to pack your beach shoes the sand there literally burns!

All in All, it was a great weekend. I ENJOYED IT and CAN’T WAIT TO GO BACK AGAIN.

WWDC: Apple is WAY out of the way!

WWDC Logo

For the techies out there, I’m sure you watched the keynote by now or at least been through a couple of articles to summarize the whole thing.  Amazing and surely not disappointing is all what was unveiled yesterday at the WWDC. I doubted Tim Cook. I admit it. Despite the rumors prior WWDC, I thought he wouldn’t pull it off. Watched the Keynote twice last night, that’s how good it was. Apple strikes again and proves it’s not a one-person organization. They are way ahead of other companies, not even close to be in anyone’s way.

What features I liked most?

IOS 6:

  • Siri can now launch apps.
  • Siri can pull in scores, game summaries and player stats.
  • Siri integrates with Yelp and OpenTable for restaurant reviews and reservations.
  • There is also a “Do Not Disturb” mode. Messages will still come to your phone, but the screen won’t light up or make any noise.
  • FaceTime will now work over cellular connections.
  • Users can now share groups of photos to their friends over iCloud.
  • Apple is launching its own mapping app.
  • The new Apple Maps integrates with Yelp.

OS X Mountain Lion:

  • iMessage is coming!!!
  • Deeper Twitter integration. It’ll be everywhere even in photo booth!
  • Deeper iCloud integration. Now music, photos, reminders, notes and calendars are all accessible on all mac devices.
  • Airplay:  mirror your desktop to an HDTV with a click  as long as you have an Apple TV.  NO WIRES NEEDED.

New Line of MacBooks:

  • Apple updated the MacBook Air with 3rd generation Core processors with Intel turbo boosting.
  • The computers can sport up to 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of flash storage.
  • Apple is adding USB 3 to the MacBook Air line, which is 10 times faster than USB 2.
  • The Updated MacBook Pro was also upgraded with 3rd-generation 2.7GHz Ivy bridge processors.
  • The Updated MacBook Pro is also being updated with USB 3.
  • The Next Generation MacBook Pro  is the lightest MacBook Pro in Apple history.
  • The Next Generation MacBook Pro has a Retina display,a 15.4” 2880 x 1800 screen, making it the world’s highest-resolution notebook display.

Beat that Competitors. Beat That.

Visiting Milano ? Stay Fashionable ! Hotel Boscolo Review ! @BoscoloLuxury

It was my 7th trip to Milano in a year, I’ve stayed in many hotels before and by far, Hotel Boscolo is the best hotel that I’ve stayed in. The location, service and rooms were all superb.

Opened in September 2009 and overlooking Milan Cathedral, Boscolo Exedra offers luxury accommodation, a modern spa and gourmet restaurant in one of the world’s leading fashion capitals.

The room was large, and very glamorously decorated. The sparkling gold shower recess was quite beautiful. The toiletries provided were unique – colorful test tube like containers in amazing scents – you could choose the shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion all in myrrh, or perhaps tea leaves – both smelled amazing, as did the Orange Blossom and Blue Tahiti. Remote control window shutters were very impressive, and blocked out every scrap of light. Most of the staff were delightful.

Location – 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral, shops and Restaurants. Easy to find due to its big red entrance. About 15 minutes from the main bus/train station in Milan.

The hotel it is pricey but worth every penny 🙂

Amazing Catering Experience: @Humbahkw Stuff Yourself With The Good Stuff !

I’ve heard of Humbah fast food catering service and always wanted to try them until I’ve finally had the chance to do so in Duwaneya couple of weeks ago.

They serve really good food, I have tried their Hotdog, burger and fries all were delicious and great if we took in mind that they serve it at your place !

aside from their great food, they were very committed to the appointment and arrived two hours earlier. We ordered 25 meals and the cost was 140 k.d.

I will definitely try it again and I strongly recommend it for all !
